Hugo Empty Hugo

OK, family movie night tonight was Hugo. I'm going to give it a 7 out of 10. The set, animations and the like get a 9. Id give the look of the movie a 10 except for a few goofy apparent c.g.i. moments (i.e. the toy mouse). Acting was a 10. Kingsley was of course terrific and I really thought Michael Stuhlbarg did a great job too (he is the front man in the movie "A Serious Man" which is a modern telling of the book of Job). Even Sasha Cohen managed to deliver a moving performance. So I guess the only real down point for me was that the movie seemed a bit anti-climatic. I didn't feel like it ever built suspense. There were moments but no real build up ever. At any rate its worth watching for the good parts and the look was so cool it made me wish I had seen it in 3-D.
